There are 3 mattresses beside the garbage bin. We have a constant problem with residents improperly disposing of items. There are clear signs as to what you can dispose of. Whoever put the mattresses there should be fined. They are responsible for all disposable fees as well. We should seriously consider putting in a camera to deter and or record those that are responsible. Our strata will have to pay to get those items removed.

I agree! The building I previously lived in had camera's and it stopped all the dumping.

This is quite concerning. Disposing of a mattress is not cheap and we are eventually going to have to pay for this with our strata fees. Cameras are not cheap but it may also help to keep the garbage room cleaner. People have gotten more and more terrible with their sorting. I often have to spend extra time in the garbage room removing plastic bags from the container recycling area or throwing out garbage that was "accidentally" placed in the bin.
