Poor water pressure in the kitchen

I have a question that may or may not be related to the water pressure issue.

For the kitchen faucet, when I change the mode to use the spray, the spray button does not stay on. I have to manually hold the button down to use the spray mode.

1) Have you always had to hold down the button in order to get the water to spray, or is my faucet faulty?

2) How do I fix this? Is it related to the water pressure problem or something else?

One Council member had the same issue as you. Problem is resolved after he took that piece of thing out.

Water flow pressure from the kitchen faucet is now great!

My backflow preventer was lodged deeper within the head than in the photos, but it still came out with an allen key, albeit after probably 30 minutes of effort. Be careful with your technique to not damage the inside of the head.
